Computing Environment
We use Python 3. Install a recent version (3.10 or later) on your own machine so you can work outside the lab.
Recommended setup:
- Python from python.org
- A text editor or IDE (VS Code, PyCharm, or similar)
- Git for version control (see class resources after logging in)
Lab machines will have Python pre-installed. Programs should run the same on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Assessment
Evaluation follows a 70 : 30 internal–external split.
Internal Assessment (70 marks)
- Mid Term Examination — 20 marks
- Continuous Assessment (Theory) — 10 marks
- Continuous Assessment (Lab) — 40 marks
External Assessment (30 marks)
- End Semester Examination — 30 marks (scaled from a 50-mark, 2-hour exam; theory or lab-based)
Exam dates will be announced once the academic calendar is finalized.
